A Comfortable, Warm Home

About Me

A Comfortable, Warm Home

Mild weather is one of the things I love the best about the southern United States. I’ve lived in this region of the country all of my life. During the winter season, I rarely see snow or sleet. In fact, I sometimes wear short sleeves during the cold weather months. However, I occasionally need to bundle up in one of my favorite, colorful coats, jackets, or sweaters. And, I also have to run my heater at nighttime. Thankfully, my husband and I scheduled an appointment with an HVAC contractor this past fall, so we are confident that our heater will last through the winter. On this blog, I hope you will discover the most common solutions to a broken heating system. Enjoy!

Important Preventative Plumbing Services

A residential plumbing system is quite complicated and is used throughout the day on a daily basis. Since your plumbing system is so important, it is in your best interest to properly maintain it, instead of waiting for a problem to develop. In most cases, preventative plumbing services are much less expensive than an emergency plumbing repair, so you can save money in the long run while also having the peace of mind of knowing that your plumbing system is in good condition. Some of the preventative plumbing services that you should schedule on a regular basis include:

Drain Cleaning

A clogged drain can be a huge hassle, whether it is in the bathroom or the kitchen. No one wants to deal with a kitchen sink that doesn't drain properly, nor does anyone want to stand ankle deep in water while taking a shower because the shower drain is clogged. Not to mention the fact that clogged drains can emit a foul odor. An easy way to ensure that you don't have to deal with drain issues is by scheduling drain cleaning services. Professional drain cleaning services will keep all of your drains clear so you don't have to worry about clogs forming.

Sewer Line Cleaning

When your home is part of a municipal sewer system, a large pipe, called the sewer line, transports waste from your house to the sewer. Unfortunately, sewer lines can develop problems, such as clogs. When a sewer line becomes clogged or completely blocked, household waste will no longer be able to flow directly to the sewer, and in the worst-case scenario, sewage can back up into your home. An annual sewer line cleaning service will help prevent these types of sewer line problems. During a sewer line cleaning, a high-pressured water hose will be used to completely clear out the pipe and remove any debris that is clogging it.

Water Heater Services

If you have a traditional tank water heater in your home, it is definitely a good idea to have it serviced by a plumber. A plumber will do a full inspection to ensure that all of the components are in good working condition. In the event that the anode rods have deteriorated, a plumber will replace them, which can help ensure that the water heater tank does not become rusted or corroded. A plumber may also recommend having your water heater flushed to help remove mineral build-up.
